Ah, illness, we meet again.

I'm sick. Mildly, mind, but still.
But that hasn't put much of a damper on my mood, because I finished first drafting one of my novellas! It's gonna take a lot of work to finish it, but I have motivation in the form of my sister, who has eagerly devoured every page I've written. I've never really had that before, and I think that that's what it's gonna take to git it dun.

Wow. . .

It's been so long since I bothered to blog. . . I don't even know where to begin.
I sort of finished this story, in one form or another, but never got around to editing it. I finished it in about a week, and plan to make it into a little series, like the Lemony Snicket books (but only five of them).
I think that there might be some promise in one that I'm working on, if I don't get too distracted. . . Y'all know that's a big issue. Especially if you're a writer. . .
Should I still work on it?

I and now officially 18 pages into Moonlighter! My new science fiction story that touches all my favorite subjects within the genre!

Drafting... still...

Today I wrote out my rough story arc, that little mountain looking thing they taught you about in school when you were learning about books. I might post it on here later, not sure yet. Wrote two pages today of the beginning, but I was in such a haze getting ready for dad to come tomorrow that it's all probably rubbish that needs serious attention.
The whole premise of the book is a Victorian/Steampunk novel. It's a girl named Ava Lovelace, and there's some time travel involved. Ava is named for Ada Lovelace, a mathematician who lived in the early 1800's who is credited as being one of the first computer programmers.

New!

Okay, now I know that I said that I had a story in progress- yet again, I'm putting it aside to work on my new story, one that I will be focusing all my efforts to. More info tomorrow!

Drafting

Ok, here's the deal. I'm sick and tired of starting a story and not finishing it. So, in the style of Julie Powell, I'm making a blog to see if it'll help me out. I'm writing a blog about writing a book, isn't that quaint?
SO far there are 8 rough pages in the whole thing. I'm hoping to do at least a page a day, all typed size 12 single spaced font. It's not as hard as it sounds.
I've been working on it for a few days, and even if I don't submit to an agent, gosh darnit I'm gonna finish the dern thing! Can I get a whoop whoop!?
